The air pressure hitting your car when you get up to speed is more than the 2-3 psi that the blower would make. So it's a good idea, if you don't plan on moving past idle.

Do you have the eight speaker system? Three on the door and one in the back seat per side.
That's the factory amp for the subs in the door. The amp for the other speakers is below the headunit.

I put a Speedo Healer on my R1 because it doesn't have stock gearing. They are marketed toward motorcycles but will work on anything that has an electronic speed sensor.
