it is usually suposed to be anywhere from 900-1000 rpm in park, and it shouldnt drop that much by shifting.

tire size does play a big roll in what your speedo reads. if the aspect ratio of the tire is correct for a +1 or -1 then the speedo should be almost perfect.

Check your brake fluid, if it is under minimum your brake light will turn on.
Don't just fill it up, check your brake pads if they are thick enough.
If that's ok check for any leaks.

ouch, thats not good. your either using to many fuel additives, or you have oil in your combustion chambers. that will cause your ash problem
