Not 100% true about ST202 & ST204's having the same cables
When the SS-II had the E56 it used the same as the ST205/GT4 as they both had the same transmission case.
But in this case its a S54. Wouldn'...

remove intake pipe, see if the butterfly is fully closed, could be the throttle cable is under too much tension, or could be the TPS.
