no it doesn't cylinder pressure and psi are two completely different things... psi is one of the many factors in cylinder pressure.

nitrous doesn't increase psi.. it increases cylinder pressure by adding more oxygen... therefore making it safe to add more fuel.. but you are right when you say an engine can only take so much cylind...
