He got rid of a ground loop
the outer sheild of an rca cable is grounded and used as a reference for the signal, so he connected the two so they both shared the same ground.

Sounds like a ground loop. Check your ground, make sure its a good one. If you still get noise, try grounding directly to your battery, or try a ground loop isolator and see if that works.

Are they two ways, or components? Are they hooked up to an amplifier or are they running off your head unit? Sounds like you have a bad ground or there is a ground loop.

Yeah you would probably have to buy window and moonroof modules (I think DEI makes some that would work,) the sensors themselves, and relays to activate the modules. Sounds like it would be too expens...
