a few seconds for it to turn off is ok. it takes longer when it sat a long time, and longer the colder it gets outside.
i would imagine 2-3 seconds on after the engine catches would be a bit too long.

check the wire, if thats ok get a gauge. i would never run the engine with that light flickering.

theres a reason that light usually comes on.
you have low oil pressure
if the only change was a oil system mod, id shut the car off immediately and fix the issue, or revert to stock..
