Some places have crappy testing equipment. I know the tester where I work is garbage. Anyway, use a volt meter and test for around 14.4V at the alternator.

In some toyotas if the battery is disconnected with the key in any position other than off it will set the airbag light. Here it costs $65 to get it reset at the dealer. Good luck.
