I think it's simply clamped onto teh support. Try to see if you have 2 tabs in the back (or in the front I can't recall), if so, simply pry them with a flat screwdriver and pull the box out.

Check your temp sensor, the one the ECU use to set the air/fuel ratio at cold starts. Check it cold to see if the temp readings are close to the actual outside temp.
