I think the wires for the O/D button are holding it in. If you can locate and disconnect them, it should pull right out.

Pretty much like Batman said. If you remove the cable it gives you a nice hole in the firewall to run wires for guages, fogs, etc..

Too much oil increases the chances of oil blowing past the turbo's seals, getting into your intake tract.
Oil restrictors are cheap and pretty easy to install.

I checked for markings, the cam that has clearly been hardwelded was in fact marked "web cam 294", the other was unmarked.
