You can always disconnect the neg battery cable. Then when you reconnect it either the alarm will start to sound, or nothing will happen.

I would look for another CC steering wheel at a junk yard and take the switch panel from that. Then make something to mount that onto your new steering wheel. this way, you dont ruin your origonal one...
