I came to the same conclusion, I don't loose any fluids.
And yes, there is a sound when I steer to one side. But the sound isn't there all the time. I think that's from pressure in the powersteering ...

strange, I hear the sound sometimes too, when I am under the hood. But I always thought it had something to do with powersteering vacuums or so. but it sounded more like sparks though.
