Yeah the paint is really shiny by itself. You can add it for more protection from chips and the elements....

Update for today: wet sanded with 400 grit. Then coat 3. I hope to get a 4th coat on tonight.

The engine had a bad rod knock. So I took a chance and replace the bearings:
