Personally I'd just used white (or whatever colour your car is) caulk / silicon around the gaps instead of moulding.. Too much trouble there.

Yeah mandrel bent piping has the same diameter around tight corners. Crushed bent usually wrecks air flow because the inside of the pipe doesn't stay smooth around bends.
