Check your grounds, igniter ground, etc all the ground that relate to your motor, check them and if there isnt enough grounds add to places like head, block, maybe even intake manifold.

I just bought a 99 gt as a dd and already has 216,000 miles on it and no smoke, no oil consumption, good gas mileage etc. These toyotas were as invincible as the hilux.
