uhh... what engine are we talking about here? On some toyota engines, the dizzy is secured with a cap similar to a cam cap. A loose cap would cause a leak.

turn off the car and shift without the clutch. You don't *need* the clutch to shift... if it doesn't shift... you got a bad tranny. If it does... it's the hydraulic system.
