I've liked the Infinities that I've heard, but they sound very muddy and the highs aren't near as good as Focals or MB Quarts. As far as Polk speakers, I haven't heard them.

I'd say get Polk. Like Andason and Matt said though, listen to some MB Quarts and see how you like them. Some people don't like them because the highs can be a bit bright due to their titanium tweeter...

If you just want the hood without the gap and without the front bumper, you could get a C-One hood made out of carbon fiber or aluminum, but that'd cost a lot.

As far as I know, no-one has done this, so yes, no-one knows about it. Just a guess, but I'm guessing it doesn't bolt up, and you'd probably need a different hybrid ECU in order to control the intake ...
