It is possible to turn fogs on anytime you want
- with ignition on
- with parking lights on
- with low beams on
- with high beams on
- even with turn signals

Probably it's silly idea and since I do not have any experience with AT tranny It's more than probable... still... have you checked spark plugs, distributor and spark plug wires? Just in case...
