Can't you pull a tach signal off the the 12v plug hot wire? I know I've seen some guy do it in his Mustang for a stupid cheepo tach w/ shifty light thing. He also ran on 7 cylinders >.>

I dont see how your axel could spin any differently w/ an at or mt especially when the axels are the same...unless it doesn't measure the drive axel but something else, in which case I can't help you...
