The US Imprezza RS, WRX, and STi use the same 2.5 Litre motor, where the rest of the world gets the 2.0 Litre rated with a higher output and it has a lot less stress.

The Dominican/Cuban relationship is because the plants are very similar, it's the soil (not so much), aging, rolling, etc. that sets the two apart, dominican is more commercial so they don't age them ...
