could do it with a simple relay and capacitor circuit methinks. Robbing the module out of a newer car probably wouldn't work because of all the integrated circuits so you would be doing a full custom...

AFAIK you can make any aftermarket antenna with the thread on base work. I didn't use the s2000 antenna on mine and it turned out quite nice
