Well, what about performance wise.. Wouldn't 18" and 19" be a bit heavier than 17"? I used to be on a Honda forum before I got the Celica, and the general opinion over there was that anything above 17...

The 3S-GTE engine can make around 1000 hp at the flywheel if done right. But you are looking at a cost for the engine alone that is way more than act...

Never above 2000 on a cold engine.
Usually around 3000-4000 daily driving.
5000-7000 spirited driving
And about 9000 rpm when racing.
The car runs great above 1000 rpm though, so in 2nd gear just craw...

In my opinion the exhaust shouldn't be angled to the side, but rather a bit down. Or, not the exhaust itself, but the end of the pipe, should angle down just a tiny bit.

Nissan SR20DET uses a timing chain, not a belt.. So that shouldn't be your first concern. The SR is also aluminum, and not cast iron, like the CA is..
