yea maybe the egr diaphragm,can be bad.double check if the nipple is clogged.you have to unscrew it.but that was on my ae86.i havnt pulled my egr out of my celica yet

might be clogged,mine was really bad in my ae86.i think you can check buy renting a vacuum gun at autozone,shoot some air on the top of the egr and if the idel doesnt change its clogged.have you tried...
