CC (http://www.corollacustomz.com) has a "NW chapter" (more like just a bunch of us who haven't actually started a chapter, per say) will be holding yet another NW Toyota meet.... last time we invited SEVERAL toyota boards (CC, corolla-racing, club4ag, mr2 pages, supra pages, and some old school sites).... coomer was actually there (didn't have his car, though)... and it was a good turnout (like 30 odd cars)... not bad on a rainy day!

we will be holding another one this summer.... we're thinking either just another show type meet, or possibly going to a shop with a dyno and having a dyno/show type meet.....
wow.

I want to attend. I want to get my car dyno'ed anyways.
You know I'm down for sure. I'd love to go. >biggrin.gif>

New Toyota project coming soon...
congrats coomer !
did you still have to pay for the swap ?

high 15's thats what im getting now..... with my GT
hey commer, i have a question, you might have answered it somewhere, but why did you go with the 4a swap compared to the 3s-gte.. i mean about the same hassle, and around the same cost right?? well the 3s might have been sorter time.. but the 3s has alot more power.. i mean shouldnt the 3s-gte run about 14 stock or so?? an your's your hoping to run mid 15's... seems like a hella lot of work for only that kinda speed... an i know i know... these arnt track cars but every one likes to take off real fast...

I think he just wanted something a bit more able-bodied than the 7AFE with more potential...and also to be unique in doing a swap not too many 6gc owners have tried.

Actually Coomer swapped the 4A-GE because his parents wouldn't let him have turbo, if you read the "feasible engine swaps" thread, written by coomer, he says the 3S is the engine to swap, bottom line. Unless you have other restrictions.

I get to have a 3S-GTE because my parents dont know anything about cars... otherwise I probably wouldnt get turbo either.
I did still have to pay for the swap. The labor, along with more parts, including the belts(alternator and accessory), MSD Blaster coil, air filter and piping and hose couplers and clamps, oil, oil filters, tranny oil, external power steering reservoir, and a bunch of other stuff costed me $800.

The main reason why I went 4A-GE rather than 3S-GTE was because of my parents and my insurance situation. They pay for my insurance, and since the insurance we have doesn't allow anything with forced induction, my parents wouldn't insure me if I got the 3S-GTE or 4A-GZE. And before the "You just could have just not told them." comes up, they would've found out one way or another. It's really scary how much they find out about my friends and I.

And if I had the 3S-GTE, I seriously think that I'd get in so much trouble. >wink.gif> I'm already getting crazy with the 4A-GE, but if I get one more ticket, I'm pretty sure that I'll get dropped from insurance, which would not be good.

Also, I absolutely love the AE101 4A-GE. >biggrin.gif> Not only is the sound really sweet, but after 4,000 RPM, the car just takes off with what feels like a lot of power. I couldn't even imagine riding in a sixth generation Celica with a 3S-GTE. >smile.gif>

It's probably just me, but my car feels faster than the two third generation Integra GS-Rs that I've driven, and they're supposed to be pretty quick, so I'll see how I do on the track sometime soon hopefully.

And maybe over spring break I can get a video together for you guys to enjoy. >smile.gif>

As far as final swap cost, it's right around $2,500. >smile.gif>

New Toyota project coming soon...
$2500 isnt bad at all, but 6 month wait kinda sucks.
wow, for all the belts, coolant, tranny fluid, seals, oil, oil filter etc etc I'm paying 2,200... Damn good deal even if they did take months to do it. And the 2,200 dosnt even include exhaust piping or the IC I need to get.
