Does anyone have any detailed information about the cruise control lever and how exactly the switches work electrically?

I'm thinking that it would be pretty cool to hook up my power windows so that when I press the lever up, they'd both go up, or when I press the lever down, they'd both go down. Or maybe use the button on the end and a couple SPDT relays to switch windows, and then operate each window individually using the lever. >>

that would definetly be hot... gives me some ideas since my cruise doesnt work anymore for some reason... hmm now you got me thinking all kinds of crazy things... like wiring it to my stereo remote control... volume up/down, prev/next track select, all that cool stuff.... hmm.... i am very interested in this electronics info...

Yeah, if I can figure out the electricals of how that switch works, I can hopefully do this over spring break. >>

you could make it so normally it does your window only but with the cruise control built in it does both or something , or you could just custom wire a button to put down the windows , but I understnad your just trying to get thise lever put to use.

Idk if the celicas work this way, but the way i kno is that the actuator controls a valve which limits the air intake. Less air, less combustion. Have the actuator control the windows but u'd have to run wires from it. Take into consideration u'd have to eliminate the brake pedal CC release. too. Probably easy enuf as cutting a wire. But the cc system probably also reads speed and throttle position and everything else.

When it comes down to it the control lever is just a switch, so idk why you couldnt use it like any other.

What im curious about, is if you can use the sensors to do other functions. If you can use the system to monitor something else, and then function in consequence to a variable.
