I've been looking at some of the rides on this site and have noticed
some cars which are hybrids.We all love the idea of making our
Celica's unique to us but when does a celica stop being a Celica
when you borrow parts from another model, supra back ends etc.
I'm not running down anyones ride, but shouldn't we stay faithful
to the original cars design - within reason, just a thought.

I agree with you a body kit is ok if it still looks like a celica, but i think that once you do light and body conversions to try to make the car look like another car then you no longer have a celica. but don't get me wrong, to evey one that has done stuff like that to their cars i think it's great that you want to have something that no one else has that's cool and keep doing your thing. but as for me i love my celi and want everyone to know what it is.

Origionality thats the name of the game. There are 3 bodykits avalible for the celica in the US. That makes for some boring car shows if you go there and see 12 of the same thing.

Think for a moment that you are walking past those cars and you see the same damn thing car, after car, after car and then you see this Supra...or maybe it's a Celica. You don't know so you go over there to check it out.

Bang! There you go. The body mods have done their purpose. It's all about catching someones eye.

A Celica will always be a Celica to the owner.

well put wilson....i agree. No matter what body mods you do to your car it will always be a celica. Originality is the most important thing here. my intension is to set my car off from the group...if every one of our cars looked the same that would be kinna lame....But i do understand what jon and mac are sayin'

Wilson and Mizryu Origionality is important it's very important and i undrestand both of you. I just feel that a Celica has somethings that make it a Celica. For example the headlights, if you change that and convert the Celicas head lights into Supra headlights then you Take away form something that makes that car special.

Point taken, as for bodykits I've got nothing against them and yeah we don't all want to be driving identical cars.Your point about
there being a limited bodykit selection out there maybe true but
there is one guy on this site who's dealing with that by making his own fibreglass mods - respect to him.

Well...I've been told by many friends to convert my headlights into a Supra but I don't want to. The thing is, Celicas are well known for its headlights and Supras for their tailights. I love them both so why deprive myself? I mean, having an actual Supra is far beyond what I can afford. I have a reason. Hehe. >> To each their own I guess.

No, but for real, a Celica will always be a Celica even if you add other car parts. For example take a Civic hatch, swap a B16B, paint it Championship White, add a CTR kit, do you have a CTR? Nope! You still have a regular Civic DX/VX/CX hatchback with a better engine that resembles a CTR...

I like Celicas for being Celicas myself, you probably bought it mostly for what it looks like, so I'd try not to change it too much, they look sweet anyways. Once you can't tell that it's a celica right when you see it, is when I think you've gone too far
