well the DIFFERENCE IS when you hit the wall, you have a medical team at your car before it stops. it happens on the street you are F0CK3D and SOL for a ride home if you are still conscious enough to even think about that.

I would never tell anyone to street race. But I've done it a few times...and there are times on I94, where I just am joyriding around midnight nad people will try to mess with me. Most time I have the willpower to just wave and keep going...but there have been times when I've done some really stupid sh!t.

Take for example this story, it may at least convince some of you that say racing on the street is ok...to not be ok with it...

Just about 3 weeks ago (the last time I've ever raced on the street) I was taking my Celi out for a little ride since it hadn't been driven in about 2 or 3 weeks. It was about 1. Very light traffic on interstate 35 around minneapolis area. I was going about 95 in a 65...just kinda crusing along...until a brand new Grand Am comes along and just about sideswipes me...he wanted to do soemthing. I figured I'd show him what I had, pretty ignorant on my part...we didn't go below 100 for 6 miles...most of the time 115 or above...on curves that were marked 50mph...going in the shoulder to pass people...dangerously weaving...until he misjudged a gap between two cars and tapped the car in front of him...nothing happened to that car cuz he kept going straight...but the guy driving the grand am went into a spin...big time. Went into a concrete girder (see you can hit concrete walls street racing) and really messed up the car. Worst part of it was that it was his girlfriend's birthday present he was bringing home to her...I obviously turned around to help him out but no one would stop...cuz they had all seen us doing the stupid stupid driving. The first thing he says as he limps out of the wreck "You're the best driver I've seen in a long time" and I got so angry cuz all in that instant I see his car basically in a ball of metal and him smiling telling me I'm a good driver. Needless to say, I helped him out by letting him use my cell...then I left so I wouldn't get in trouble.

You can all yell at me...but it wouldn't make me as mad as I was and am at myself still. You know how many close accidents I was in and could've killed someone else or myself...and then the nerve of that guy to tell me I was a good driver...one of the best he's seen...ugh...I'm seriously disgusted with myself...and I just wanted to share my story with you all...please keep it at the track...

Saleeka...yeah it went from 35W around snelling all the way north to highway 10 west...and continued on highway 10 west until we got to foley blvd.

And I totally agree with saleeka...you may be good enuff but is the other person?

Well i mess with people on the road sometimes. (not mess like antagonize, but someone revs at me i rev back) Im not an active street racer. But i enjoy the run every once and awhile. And yeah you can die doing it but you can die taking a shower. And the thrill is from knowing you could get ****ed in the end. Not something i want or do but thats what it is. This crap about taking down the guy next to you. You can do that at a track no difference.But the thrill your getting is your body tensing up for impact or whatever it is that comes your way. Now i wont pull this holier then now bull**** but street racing isnt safe but neither is walking down the street. People do it because they need a replacement or jolt to say they are alive. Im not saying its a good idea but thats why. Kinda like skydiving you have 2 cords one is for when the first doesnt work. After that your dead. But why do people jump, because they know that it could happen. They feal like they are cheating death. So who am i or anyone else to tell people what is a good or bad thing to do, morales = mind control. Just dont hit my car or you will be buying me acouple new cars to replace it.

Street racing is cool as long as you're performing an abortion and supporting capital punishment at the same time. But it's totally not cool to be racing, performing and abortion, supporting capital punishment, and supporting the Iraq occupation.

i kind of see the argument...

but really they are not related. Abortion is a topic of both moral and legal topics, weather it should be legalized or not based on social norms and values... when is a baby really a baby.... and when does life actually start... its something the law is constantly being contested over. 50% of people view it as, as long as it has not become a fetus, it is not a living creature... and the other 50% view it as once it has been concieved it has life...

street racing... well.. it will never be legalized. lol its more like 50% view it as a fun thing to do as an adrenaline rush. the other 50% view it as stupid, immature, and a lack of driver skill to actually go perform at a sanctionized event because they are not skilled enough to be competitive.

so in respect to them being related by the fact that they are 50/50, and can be debated for ages, ya they are similar. but in respect to the topics being debated similarly, not at all.

Well when you look at good and bad at all it deals with morals. Thats what morals are is what is accepted as good and what is bad. All i was saying ,if you were refering to mine, is that to claim something as wrong is a relative thought. Meaning only you and people of the same thought process could consider it to be wrong. Morals are a way of making everyone think alike. So yeah street racing is a moral issue. So abortion and street racing are on the same level. And until an organism can subtract itself froms its creator its not a person its a parasite. Until you cut the cord its not granted the benefits of a living being. its more like an arm.

My 0.02c worth: Its a maturity issue.

Some guys just dont learn until they learn it the hard way. If you want to contribute to statistics, its your choice. If you endanger someones life, its your fate.

As an old thinker, my question is - if you knew that you went out street racing, that a stray dog will run out in front of you, that you will swerve and miss, that you will turn 720 degree circle (woohoo!) and stop in the middle of an intersection with onlookers cheering at your performance making you feel like you're the king of the tarmac, then get smacked by a 12 wheeler who just couldn't put on its airbrakes in time (being 2am when a lot of truckies are out doing long distance travelling) - Would you put on your jacket, grab your keys and still go out?

(Feel like a hollywood movie? Might right a script for Final Destination 4 on dumb a$$ boys with their street machines)

I dont know if that is a reply towards me or just people in general. Because of the opening sentence. But if it is then here i go. I dont street race. I have a 95 break horse power car why would i race. Now that doesnt mean i dont have those little sprints every now and then. And yeah if a dog jumped out and i spun out and died well then damn im dead. But we make choices like that everyday, whith the offchance of something dreadful happening. I dont go to organized street races because thats like playing russian roulet, sooner or later your gonna bite the bullet.

Saleeka, you're right on the money there.

The only people i can think that would street race (and i mean real street racing, not just the occasional, short blast.) are those too iresponsible and immature to understand the nature of their actions.

You may think you're in control, you may think that the thrill is the best bit about it. But none of these are good enough reasons to not race on a track. There is still risk involved in track racing, and it's still fun. If you're only getting a kick out of it, because you know the risk of what could happen, then god help your soul if it does.

I don't mean if you kill yourself, that is selfish enough for your family and people who know you to deal with, but imagine this...

One night some young retards are out street racing. That same night your girlfriend, mum, dad or someone else you care about, is out walking that area, or stuck with a flat or some such. Maybe they've been out for a drink or two. They aren't very carefull they dont check properly, or there is fvck up and one of the cars lose control. THey end up being hit, killed or crippled. They may even be partly responsible or dumb to get hit, but does that mean it isn't the drivers fault???

If it was one of your loved ones, would you accept that the driver wasn't irresponsible?? Now imagine it is you driving, and it's someone elses loved one you have killed. If you dont feel guilty about this, adn it doesn't make you think about stopping street racing, then like i say god help your soul, cos if there is an afterlife you have a great deal of explaining to do.

And no it isn't rare for people to be killed in cars. just look at the stats, it is one of the most dangerous things you can do, so why make it more dangerous, to you and others?? For kicks?? if so you need help.

oh yeah and for the record. I love my missus so much that if your irresponsible actions killed her, i would come after you and kill you and then myself. She means that much to me.

Ehh any one can smash the pedal and drag race. take your ass to a autox track and spin out a few times. i bet you the first time you spin out youll probably be in shock >>

and plus dieing in a street race is the easy way out. ever been caught for doing something stupid like drag racing man in san diego its a night in jail + 4000 plus fine + car taken away for 1 month thats another 1 g for inpound fees + 3 points on license + insurance going up for wrecklessdriving + always getting pulled over after wards cause your marked for being at a known race spot = not worth it.

if you want a rush so badly pick up a chick have unprotected sex and "pull out" before you explode >>. the rush of knowing what STD or if the kid is your is better >>

A friend of mine got caught street racing and thats what he went thru i got caught for being at a known race spot. i thought i got off easy but i come to realize ima "known street racer" ****ing bull **** if you ask me but hey i learned my lesson so i tend to get lot of cops tailin me or pulling me over for the smallest things

and for the people about to call me a hipocrit for not promoting street racing im done! got a ticket for doing triple digits so thats excuse enough for me to stop.

You guys are funny. What does the fast and the furious have to do with street racing. Street racing was around before FF. Besides why limit yourself to just the road course track. There are plenty fun roads out there. It just all goes to wether you take responsiblity for your actions. If you hit a person you sit still and say you hit them when the cop arrives, you hit the gaurd rail you fix your own car. It's as simple as that, besides raod racing test you skills alot more than track. The variables always change in road racing where as in track its almost always the same. Don't get me wrong nothing is 100% safe proof or gaurentee your life. It just takes A stupid driver to make a mistake wether track or street if that stupid diver is there then i guess somthing will happen somthing might not, just make sure your not the stupid driver. Besides stright away proves only two things engine power and shift skills leaving out your cars ablility to corner your own skills and judgment and your braking skills. If you want to drag race leave your money for your engine and don't do anything else. This is all only my opinion it might not go with the belief of some people (of course at times I know you got the erge to want to street race just to get some people po'ed) If you are offended than you might have a bit of a complex and a closed mind for human being (human). But then again Sorry if i offend you.

Besides somepeople might need to actually experiance the terror of (what happens when cars go out of contorl part 1) to know that damn damn things could happen like that if i make a stupid judgement. so let them be. I guess they just don't want to push their cars to the limit at the track where you don't have to care about a cop pulling you over and hitting grandma drivers just the stupid driver. I am not for street racing nore am i against it. Just do what you want and learn from it well if you get the chance.

yea doin like hill climbs and stuff are the ****, but thats more controled than running down a 4 lane main road running right through town.

lol people always talking about taking this honda or this car or keeping up with this one to me that sounds like anyone who is critcizing about how its illigal and dagerous to street race are the ones actually doing it. All i can say is if you got a good lawyer it doesnt matter how fast you were going. cause they can make it seem like you werent even racing and just get a slap on the wrist.

im just saying that everything happens for a reason.
it might not be the reason you would think, but that is what makes life what it is. the weird thing is this the kind of **** is what makes us excited to see tommorow.
