CD Player gap - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #10805 16 posts Started by 7A-FEces
Anyone have their player in and it doesn't stick out far enough to put on the outer trim? It bolts right up on the side brackets. But now it looks like the player has a gap around what the trim would cover up.

I put mine in and I don't have a gap.

i have this problem as well but dont realy have a good solution to offer

a guy at my local audio shop said that someitmes they actualy dril thread holes into the side of the cd player about a milimeter off of the predrilled ones in the cdplayer so it will sit perfect

I have like a 1/8" gap between my radio and my console all around... not too much of an eye sore, actually I hardly see it as an eyesore.
the proper fitting kit (side brackets)comes with a foam surround and cut metal shape to go around a double din unit..
I guess you could get some dense foam and cut a shape out to surround your h/u.
I just want to put the outer trim on. I gues I'll try something to cover it up a bit. It is about 1/8" gap. Thanx for the info.
i have a sony, and it fits in the dash rather nice without the additional kit... ill go take a pictuer of it now cuz im bored... brb....
ok heres some pics.... closed

You don't need that bezel. I've put in 2 stereos in my car, and trust me, you don't need it. If you're gonna put it in a GM car, or something like that, then keep it, because the mounting kit requires it.
