where to run the wires - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #10820 15 posts Started by acenova
where do I run the wires from the main compartment to the engine and the battery? Like where's the hole at that I can squeeze the wire throught?
it is on the passenger side its like a little boot (looks like an old style shift boot for a truck) poke a coat hanger through it and push it down untill you see it come out under you glove box, then fasten the wire to the coat hanger and push it through
I would recomend going to your mehcanic and have him drill you a hole on the drivers side.

Or you can save ur self some time and money and actually drill a hole urself.

clipse if your gonna critisize our techniques you coudl atleast elaborate on yours >smile.gif>
First I ripped out that old install. The Fuse and Most of the wire was destroyed. I picked up 35ft of 4g wire from sounddomain ( here in 2 days nice ). I was gonna run it threw the driver side then figured there wasnt a whole big enough inside ( where the wire come threw the side inside the cab, 8g Might fit tho). So I took off the inner and fender on the passenger side and laid out How I think it should go cut to the right length and started Zip Tieing.

I looped around the battrey with about 9" of wire then mounted a Phenoix gold Fuse. I went under the front crossmember attaching the wire to the exsisting Loom and also zip tieing threw the extra holes. went the rest of the way across the front cross member I twisted the cable a lil bit so looking from the front or straight down couldent see it ( I know im anal ) Into the fender cavatee it went. I continued to attach it to the exsistin loom with zip ties. To get it into the cab you have you have to cut a very very small hole in one of the 2 ruuber groments Strech it to get your wire threw, then I filled it with a slicone sealer then wrapped it up with electric tape.
Total time 4-6 hours.

I ran mine from the battery into the fender. Over the wheel well and into the boot behind the fuse/wiring block in the drivers kick panel. Just use some rtv to seal the boot well. Pulling a few of the wheel well clips lets you peal it back for access.
For a nice install your gonna need these as well...

i am awesome
hey i have a question, How many of you run just standard fuses, or a breaker? my min reason is, because any time i screw with my wiring i manage to blow the fuses, juts me being stupid , and trying out dif stuff.... but sence i no longer work at bestbuy and i ran out of them, it dont feel like wasting 5 bucks a pop... so if any one has any idea, please let me know. Thanks
you can pick up 4 fuse's for a Buck at most car shops.
