Ok, I have an idea as to how I want my car to look. But I want to know whether you would think it was too much rice. Note, I have an automatic '94 ST.

Would that be too ricey for my car? I have an exhaust and I might order a CAI from the guy in the for sale forum that is making them. Now remember <-automatic = all show, no go.

Would you laugh at me if you saw my go by or would you be like, man that car is bad ass...

get ride of the z-3 fenders, an it would be cool... It really is what your into, if you like a nicer looking car or better perfoming... who cares really hat others think, there will always be a few people out there that will hate your car no matter what you do...

Nope not rice....id be saying DAMN!!! as long as the blue is that techno metalic blue. And not cop car blue!!!

depends on the blue, if u do a different blue other than honda blue or Subaru blue.

i would lose the z3 fenders... thats pretty much how my car is gonna be (with the z3 fenders), only becuase both my fenders are damaged, and z3's are a cheap replacement... and i believe clear turns with blue bulbs will get you pulled over and ticketed....

and i know what you mean shid... honda rice is big aluminum wing\altezza's\decals\muffler....

whats wrong with z3 i have them i think they look good

nah not rice in my opinion, just stay away from those universal aluminum wings I see on all these 1st gen laser's and talons haha.

IMHO it's a little ricy...but hey dude, whatever rocks your boat. You can never please everyone, but you CAN please yourself. Do what you want!

I'm leaving my stock spoiler on and the rims until I get enough to get the OZ's later on. It shouldn't look that bad. I dunno about the Z3 fenders yet, if it costs too much I just might keep them off. Oh and the blue turn signals, the cops down here are real slow, their too busy eating donuts. I want a nice dark blue color, not Si Blue or Subaru Blue, but something that will look good, it'll just be darker than normal blue.

Midnight Blue on Mustangs, and 'Out of the Blue' that is seen on Escalades and Corvette Z06's would be my choices. They're all a very similar shade of dark but bright blue.

rice == ALL SHOW NO GO....

if ur gonna go with all those exterior mods, at least back it up with some performance engine parts...

RICE is more of an attitude than how your car looks.

That guy in the lowered 1991 civic DX with a black hood (Not carbon fiber) , A universal muffler 2 rims on the back and stock hubcabs on the front, altezza's 2 lightning audio walmart subs with HONDA in oriental letters accross his windshield that thinks he can WHIP ANY CARS ASSSSSS is RICE RICE RICE

As long as your car is done right, nothing is hanging off, who cares whats under the hood if you just want a nice looking car. If people call it rice say "hey, I know my car is slow, but it looks badass" and they will back off. People give modding exteriors a bad name by overdoing it and thinking it adds HP.

Also simple-minded domestic fanboys call anything that doesnt have an american v8 in it rice.

i'd say drop the kit and the neons. neons are most definately rice, imo.

the more subtle, the more class.

Neons,stickers altezzas, and big wings are my pet peeves. I saw some guy who put 3 different tire manufacturers stickers on his car, and he had stock rims.

well you can call me rice or what ever I like moding the exterior of my car but once that is done i will move to swaping engines or adding a turbo but for now my car looks nice and still gets great gas milage. I dont have to race every kid who revs at me at a stop light when they see my car. >> so mod the engine or the interior or exterior just do what you want cause in the end your the one driving the car

Well I don't really like the smiley face everyone describes my car as having. I'd much rather have the invader that looks like its about to eat something. I mean seriously, I really don't care that my car is slow. If I wanted a fast car I woulda got myself this old ass BMW Turbo manual convertible that woulda ate up the Celica, but I mean, 4 headlights + a fat ass won me over on the Celica.

Ok, here's what I've decided...

Invader Bodykit
Custom Hood (Andason's GB)
Blue Turns (F the Police)
Blue Neons (not the freaking washer things, and personally I don't think its rice)
O.Z. Superleggera's (I might go for something else though, gunmetal + dark blue = sexy x2 on the Celica)

I'll maybe do something to the engine but really, why? I don't have $5000 bucks to drop in 3SGTE like some of you guys and I need good mileage cause I drive a LOT. I mean, whats the use of having a big ass engine if everyone else around here is driving mostly stock, I mean its not as if I can't beat some of these people. And I really don't race too much anymore after my friend wrecked so I would rather go show car to speed racer.

IMHO on rice.
I dont care if you have everything different - z3 fenders- nsx ducts - s2000 tails >> -stickers that would take 2 days to read -and every piece of metal lite up in neon green.

I like different. If I could replace EVERY single part on my car i would.

Just... please... just dont add any parts that say "universal" in front of them.
The two "bad rice" criteria
1. universal parts (wings-mufflers-and stickers for things not on your car)
2. revving your engine at every god d.amn light in town when your have a 91 DX!!

I dont think rice is a bad comment.. hell dump soy sauce on me for all i care, just as long as I dont have to flex my "muscle" at each stop light.

I don't even rev if I'm all alone in the middle of nowhere. Now thats just really sad >>

I consider RICE to be anything slapped on cheaply or haphazardly jsut to have it such as a poorly fitted body kit, universal wing, ebay muffler, basically anything that can be bought and put on for cheap just for the sake of having it. These people dont love their car, they just want to have something to show off. If you take your time, do things right, make it look like it was meant to be there, then IMO it is not rice. If you drive by, i will give you props for the time and effort put into the love of your car.

Progressive just called me (the other guys insurance co). They said that my car is now a total loss. So now I have no Celica. I had actually decided not to get the Civic Si because of actually thinking about it I like my Celica, so today as I was just about to tell him Progressive called and let me know that my car is a total loss. So now I'm just gonna have to go get the check from them and find me a different Celica. There's a black liftback manual about 75 miles from me that I might check out but right now I don't know whether or not I'll be getting another Celi.
