Sleeper or Show Stopper? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #10902 43 posts Started by Redline_Racer
What would you guys choose if you had the choice between making your car faster than anything in your area, or making it the best looking car in your area?

wasn't sure if this is general disscussion or off topic and sorry if this is a repost.
If I had the money I would love to have a 3SGTE engine in my car along with making it a show stopper because then there would be more respect for the Celica. No one down here has a sleeper except for my friends Eclipse Spyder, it ripped a Supra TT 6-spd a new exhaust hole up at Gandi >biggrin.gif>
I'd say as long as your car looks decent now, why not put the money into the drivetrain and make it faster. Our cars already look pretty sleek but they could sure use some help in the performance department.
You forgot to add BOTH... cuz I would want both...
Depends how much money you can throw down. Shop stopper if you can drop 20 K+ into it and actually STOP A SHOW with your car (and take looks away from the supras, mr2s etc) But if not i just say put the money into the engine.

Obviously i cant do either so ive made it nice enough to get some looks from people who are interested in Celicas..

Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City
personally, i would prefer a sleeper..nobody would be expecting a 6g celica to beat the sh*t outta them!! >biggrin.gif>

^ what if you allready have a steady supply of sex? >smile.gif>

Id go with sleeper, personally, all I really want to do to my outside if stock side skirts and 96+ bumper with stock fogs and a 1 inch drop. Rims if I have excess cash..

I think the stock look is really hot for our cars >smile.gif>
show stopper for sure... people dont care a whole lot if your car is fast these days

i am awesome
It's easier to make a 6g Celica a show stopper. There aren't a boat load of readily available quality aftermarket parts, everything has to be custom unless you go the engine swap route.

That said, having a fast 6g Celica is that much cooler; I'd rather have a sleeper.

I'm going for show over go, but looks like i'm going to get me a turbo setup pretty soon, can't have my friend 300ZX smoking me. >wink.gif>
well for me right now it would have to be SLEEPER... because if i make a SHOW STOPPER i would be way to worried about parking it in the street.. can't drive it that much cause rocks and stuff on the road, will chip the paint.. there are always haters out there that can just trash your car cause they can't have it. pluse a sleeper is so much more fun to drive..

I'd say sleeper. Celicas look nice stock, don't you want to back that up?

yeah the figure 8 joints do wear out quite quickly(after about 50,000 miles) thats one of the main probs with these cars, but definitely improves the handling

as far as your car goes ull get far less transmission power loss than a gt4 does so u can put far morepower to the ground! up to 60 the 4wd cars have an advantage but after that the power starts to drop off!

ive always had respect 4 the way that people uprate their cars SERIOUSLY by engine swaps etc, because it scares the crap out of people who think their cars are fast when a sleeper goes and destroys them!

respect is due definitely to you and others that have gone through major effort(1.5 yrs!) to sort out ur car!

yes i am one of the regular post whores on there lol

its a bit strange but your emissions laws are a bit ridiculous. how can an evo/gt4 not pass emissions laws but an 8 litre dodge viper pass it? or is there something else behind it?

Sleeper. >biggrin.gif>

I just want a really great clean engine in my Celica, racing seats, short shifter and a sick interior, and a nice clean paintjob with lightweight wheels. A very clean car to me is enough of a show-stopper.
