anyone know of any good amps that can push at least 1500 into a sub? cause we are getting some new subs at my work that cost 900 a piece and i can get them for 180 a piece. i was thinking of getting one but dont want to have to buy like 4 different amps but id like to put at least 2000 watts into it. by the way the subs is 1500 watts RMS and 5000 peak. and the most powerful amps we sell are 1000watts
5000 watt subs - 6G Celicas Forums
look at this amp... pretty nice i wish i had subs that could handle 3000 watts lol ebay

thats pretty nice but that price is a little cheap for a amp that can do 3000 watts so personally i dont trust it plus ive never heard of them
First of all what kind of sub are we talking about? Just curious
Second if you believe that amps puts out 3000 watts i got a bridge to sell you.
What amps do you have available at work that produce 1000 watts... If they produce 1000 watts rms you should be fine. Remember that when you double the power you gain only 3db. So going from 1000 to 1500 watts will only get you 1.5 db.

i would say use the planet audio 2500 and/or 2250 amps. That is at one ohm though. Those are the most powerful amps that I have seen. Not cheap by any means. Other than that. The JL Audio 1000/1 Class D mono amp should be perfect for you.
the subs are pioneer premier they arent even out yet they come out in april or something but i can order them now and get them a few weeks early.....the most powerful amp we sell is a 1000 watt xtant
also its a 5000 watt sub not 3000
Is this the sub? http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pioneer/...9,92674,00.html
Looks impresive. Personaly though I have never been impressed with any pioneer subs. That's just personal experience.
If you have the xtant x1001 available at work I see no reason not to use it. But if you really wanna run the sub at it's max rms power the usamps should do the job. The 2000 watt model is around $1600 if i remember right.

yup thats it i can get it for 180 bucks....the only thing i have a problem with is the weight.....it weighs in at 70 pounds which is heavy
Something else to think about. A 2000 watt rms amp will draw around 150 amps. Your stock alternator is good for about 70 amps. You will need to upgrade your charging system with either a super high output alternator. Or you're gonna need to install a second alternator and battery just to power your sound system. Either way it ain't gonna be cheap.
yea i thought about that but it wont be too expensive it may even be free seeing hows my step father is a toyota mecanic but i dunno it would still be alot for the amp and what not
Damn, i think thats complete overkill with the wattage.....Im a musician, and ive heard 600 watt bass amps that will blow your f***in brain out your ears......hehehehe, i couldnt imagine why you would want to have a 5000 watt sub behind you while youre driving, not to mention your car probably falling apart from the vibrations. But thats just my opinion, i dont see the practicality of it at all.

i wouldnt use it at full power i really just want it just to say i have a 5000 watt sub pluis if i bought 2 i could sell them both 2gether for 1000 easily and make some profit
Thats not a 5000 watt sub...thats a 1500 watt sub...MAX wattage does mean jack **** when it comes to subs. RMS is the only number that matters and thats 1500wrms....I run 2200wrms(5000 peak but that doesn't mean **** since that won't happen unless they are hit by lightning) onto my stroker 18 which takes major power and loves it.
I run a pair of DEI 1100's daisychained and love them...as suggest US Amps are very nice.

Hi Guys!
I will teach you something.
Because an amps says it can do it, does mean it can do it for long.
It might depend on time (1sec, 5 secs.)
Good amsp are over 800US to do that.
Zapco, US Amps and a few others can do that.
You want an amp that can play in that region for minutes, if not hours with cooling.
So stop wasting time talking about these cannot do amps and start looking at the big boys in the industry.

Ha,ha..well put. 5000 watts is alot of juice and I HOPE I live to see the day when a sub can take 5000W for more than half a second. By the way, most of the time when you do blow up an amp like that, it's not because there was too much juice going through it, it's that it's not drawing ENOUGH juice from it's primary power source and that's what will normally do your amp in.
