Are there any celica owners out there who have modify there celicas (GTFoursAllTrac or swaps) over the 260HP mark.

I would like to know how it was done, what matter arises and so on.

Also, how does the car feel and behaves with those mods from standard.

If you are a GT owner or a celica owner who looking to go to the 260 mark or just get that extra performance over 160HP, you can also dropped usa line letting us know what your plans are and how are going to go about doing it.

Here are my plan (which are just plans for now). The engine will be prepared for hp about 400HP. Please remember that.

If you have a GT you can save yourself a lot of time and money by just doing the 3sgte swap. i know everyone always says that but its a lot easier to build up from that then on the 5sfe. just a suggestion.

As I said, the 3SGE engine will be prepared with all the neccessary stuff to rev high, for high boost and stability.

This topic really goes out to the swappers who have done it and what the results are since there do not have GTfour.

People are not replying due to the fact that you have a very good list made now as it is. Any more feedback would be from someone who has done it already. I know of noone who has attempted to build a 3sge and thn turbo it. I say go for it, if it starts well there you go if not then we'll try to help figure out why.

When are your planning to embark(SP?) on this project?

The injectors are way TOO big...

you would run so rich that you would never make any power.

@500hp

Bsfc is 0.60
Injector duty is 0.75
Fuel pressure is 175 psi

what this means is if your running 500hp then you need injectors that are 524cc/min or 49.86 lb/hr

720cc injectors are way too powerful.

I will say that you won't need that many performance mods to hit 260hp... hell a jdm 3sgte 3rd gen/ r/c almost hits that stock.

I have not dynoed my car due to lack of dyno's in my area... if I had to guess it in the neighborhood of 350+

Also the greddy exhaust has the best flow for the 3sgte and its cheaper than the veilside one.

I am hpoing to purchase the 99 6g celica ST202 SII/III next year.

Once purcahse, there will be a testing period and then mods following the next year.

A 3rd gen. 3SGTE is a 3nd gen. 3SGE + Turbo. The 3SGE have strengthened parts and so on.

Most probably, the engine will be build from the 2nd gen. 3SGE.

Have you added the Crane Cams HI6 + Nology M80 coil yet?

You seem to have a MR2. Am I ccorrect?

I am aware of what a standard 3sgte can do.

I am building a strong engine up to 600hp and maybe+.

Currently, the 3sgte carries 540cc injec.

From what I gather, there max out close to 400HP.

I have decided to use either from 600-720cc for hp up to 600HP.

My aim is not to go that high, but just in case, I will have the flow for it.

I have not gotten consultation on this part , but I will from HKS and toysport when I am ready.

I want either toysport of fensport.com to prepare the engine for me. So all neccessary details will be pass on to them on my project.

right now all i have power wise is just a greddy exhaust. this is because its one of the only power mods you can get where you can use it in both the 7afe (my stock) and 3sgte applications. i hope to do the 3s swap either next year or the year after.

As for ignition all I have at the moment are the nology wires and Denso Iridum plugs... am still debating on what I want right now for the rest of the ignition.

I did notice a fairly decent amount of responsiveness with the new wires and plugs.. installed them at the same time so I don't know which one made the better improvement but was well worth the money.

As for the injecters the ones that come with the 3sgte donot have a high enough bsfc and injector duty rating.. there are also differences in the pulse of the injectors. The injectors you listed will dump way to much fuel into your mixture and you will run too rich... I'm not saying that you don't know what your talking about I just saying that smaller cc injecters will do the job better... I made this mistake about a year ago and had to by another set of injecters.

Also I have a 94 that started life as a normal N/A GT.. Over the last 3 years I have been slowly building it into a GT4. You can view my profile for a list of some of the mods that have been done to the car.

I haven't taken any pics of it... Never had a reason to until I joined this website and the car is currently in pieces and about 150miles from where I live.. the engine is also torn apart- chroming the valve cover,altanater, and my intake/intercooler piping.

The head on both models are the same.

It would be expected that the compression and internal would notr be the same.

In other words, toysport documknetation was actually talking about the Intake, Head and so on.

Compression is VERY important when it comes to boosting a car.
The lower the compression ratio the better your car will handle under high boost situations.. High compression ratios are already under a bigger load than low compression ratios... you add too much boost... you go BOOM!

Also you need to look at you cams... deration vs lift.

Deration... better for N/A... Natural Aspirated... engines, allows more time for air/fuel mix to enter the cylinders, but at a slower rate.

Lift... Better for forced induction... turbos and chargers... allows more rpms.. thus keeping up with the forced air. doesn't allow as much air/fuel to enter cylinder at one time but does it more often.

Remember... anytime that you mess with your deration/lift you are changing your engines timing and you need to pay attention to this... not doing so will cause damage to your engine... New gears and pullys and such are essensal when changing cams.

click on the word "TUNNING" and you will see a really good selection for the 3sgte.

Buy the 3sgte instead of the 3sge.. you will save money by the time you are done.. you would basically have to put a stroker kit into the 3sge to make it full functional with a turbo on it... atleast $3000

Also you will want to look into a new pistion set for either engine... this can change your compression ratio and also your displacement slightly.

One more thing... on your original list you didn't list a new head gasket... the stock 3sgte head gasket is only good for 400hp and that is at the flywheel not the wheels.... what that means is if you make your car do 400hp at the wheels you are running anywhere between 450-500hp at the flywheel...****en transmissions... Neways the head gasket will blow! so you need to look into this.

I am not to bother about the engine.

I might go with a 3sgte, but the way how toysport and fensport builds engines is from the 3sge spec grom which I gather.

I am aware of the compression ratios. I am not illiterate to the fact.

Right now, I am worried about getting the car for next year. I have to import it from Japan.

Once attain and I feel comfortable with the car, will then decide on the mods.

Tell me something, can you send me a link on injectors, flow aret and other info I might need to decide on how big my injectors have to be for a specified HP.

The figure that I am getting is that the GTfour should nt be event going over 280 on stock.

unless high fuel pressure is use. eg 50psi.

I ran an approx 350hp.. no dyno where I live... with the stock injectors and the MR2 venom fuel pump. I have new Venom 524cc injectors but have not run them in my car yet.

The car is currently torn apart and at a bodyshop 150 mile from where I live...

Once its all back together I will post pics and tell you all about the Pros and Cons that I have with the new parts and mods I am installing.

Do you have a fuel pressure regulator? How much PSI are you running?

Do your 3sgte carries 540cc or are you usning the 3sgte that carries the 430cc injectors?
