the day before yesterday i was about to go a party and *bam* i see smoke coming out from my headlight.....to make a story short my radiator had a leak and i guess it finally went out on me. So i bought a new one and decided to attack it and install it myself...job was complete in 2 hours (first time ever changing a radiator) and its not that hard lol just thought id share.
well done mate , a lot braver than me >biggrin.gif>
yeah the install is an easy one i had to do it too but my radiator was bent into a V after my wreck.
i was proud cuz i changed my own oil the other day...
haha... that reminds me... when i took my car over to the guys house who was helping me with the motorswap... i pulled the car in and he says "ok..... well i gotta go in and do a few things... why don't you start by removing the radiator"..... he walked off and i'm sitting there staring at it..... luckily i just decided to pull the bottom hose (didn't realize there was a drain plug) and pull the rad out... and started pulling anything else i knew how to (or could figure out)

all in all, i ended up doing like 75% of the actual work on my motorswap... it taught me a lot, mainly that it's much simpler than i expected
well see, im not very mechanically inclined when it comes to an engine.... changing my oil was a big step for me...

wow, my parents have been making me work on cars sence i was like 12-13.... i got most everything done, besides a full engine swap, or working with major internals of the engine, but ive been an helped with most everything, im just waiting for that same reason to start messing with my engine, or doing a swap..
the funny thing is, my stepfathers a mechanic (now he owns his own shop, so i get matenence work for cheap >biggrin.gif>), and i lived with him and my mom for 10 years, and i just never was into it... now im 19 and have my celica, and im starting to mess around with it and stuff... for 10 years i could have soaked up car knoledge and didnt...
