Today my friend and i were talking about HID kits, and he said that a law was just passed that made them illegal to sell by a vender,(so some one cant go and make and sell hid kits). do yall know anything about this?

Why tho?
I guess they concider them to be too bright. It's like driving aroung with your high beams on and not being able to turn them off.....that's my educated guess.

That doesn't make any sense, and if that were the reason, it wouldn't have passed
well aftermarket fog lights are illiagel to sell for street use.. they are off road only .. but they still get sold and used on street .. same thing will happen with the HID.. they will sell them with off road use only printed on them...

They'll only be standard when the price of them drops a considerable amount. They're relatively new and still optional equipment on BMWs and stuff. You wont see them standard on alot of cars for a good 5 yrs.
The problem is that people put them in halogen housings. Where the light isnt concentrated in one spot but its all over and its blinding people.
If you have a projector housing, u shouldnt have a problem because the light is cut off beyond a point.

so if you have the JDM projectors and HIDs you wont be blinding everyone?
No, just oncomming traffic, lol. But i guess they can be adjusted enough to meet LHD specs.
