The toyota dealership my dad works for just got this custom made for the showroom(not to sell) and it hits hard as hell. I know how to hook up subs and amps and other car stereo but with the inverted subs how do they work. I know in a regular set up the box has its volume and thats what the sub uses but how does it work when it is fliped?

THanx.

is that set up ported? if it is, then doesnt it work the same way as if the subs were put the other way? its just a movement of air =p
ya i believe it works with the same volume principle the speaker just has to move the air no matter what way its facing. im not certain though
Yeah, either side will do >smile.gif>
I think your suposed to flip the termanels. Sorry for the spelling.

There is no real advantage to firing your subs into a box except for looks... However you do have to reverse the polarity to the + and -... It also helps in small areas as well since u do not have to account for the basket and magnet within the enclosure itself, allowing you a smaller box.
a lot of amps will actually have a polarity switch.....

generally, it works best if you use free-air subs
Dont use free-air subs in an enclosure though >wink.gif>
Some, like the Infinity 10.1d, are rated for both.
just dug this topic out of the search cause i'm redoing my system in my hatch....my queation is do y'all think it'd look good if built two fiberglass enclosures behind the rear wheel wells had one sub mounted normally with the other inverted an BTW i'm going to recess mount my two amps into the back of the rear seats and flush them up with fiberglass too. what do ya think.

and for enclosure size do i subtract the size of the basket from the recomended volume for the inverted one??
you can turn any subs like that as long as you wire them up back to front..
pos to neg and neg to pos......it is purely for show....

for the best sound fron a sub i would recomend to load it against a baffel approx
12" fron the face of the sub...

pics of my new install will be on soon.....just got to sand and paint it now.... >smile.gif>

312whp with more to come....
Guys Inverted woofers r okay...i would suggest getting a stroker and if u have money to set it up....one 15 Inch stroler is alot for ur car. u can hear the base several feat away from ur car. my cousin has one in his toyota landcruiser and i here him coming 4 lights away!!!! but the problem is it lossens up ur car, like ur screws and stuff start to rattle!!!

Meh, my 2 JLs can be heard more than "several feet away' screws and stuff start to rattle.. that happens on ANY car with subs in it- the problem is when your screws and stuff start to come LOOSE!! my side window is currently expierencing this issue- and a piece on the back bumper might be as well. Too much bass.
the cops >smile.gif> hehe, I was just saying it, because... several feet away from the car? Even MTX can do that >smile.gif> ooo burn
if 2 kicker 10" L7's pushed by my brutus 1500D isn't enough bass than i don't want it!!
