im getting a lil dude in a chair holding a ball - 6G Celicas Forums
it is airbag, to fix it... umm.... get a diagnosis from your ecu
well, i did have a friend help install an alarm, and thats when it came on, is there a wire or a plug that could of came un-pluged, or a blown fuse, even though tht sounds kinda stupid.. also my gauge cluster lights went out, im guessing a fues there too..
ok, hoping that someone will still read this and help me out,... I talked to the guy that installed the alarm, and he said its most likly needs to be reset or somthing, that its prolly when it probed it check a curent, but the wires looked the same, but said it needed to be reset??? any clue? Thanks alot
i get that... but thats becuse my airbags went off... im gonna just unplug the light >
>
im sure thats just gunna fix it, j/k.. humm but mine didnt, maybe il look into checking around today.
i dont wanna sound mean.. but you probably shouldn't of installed the alarm yourselves. i build computers and I wouldn't touch a good car alarm. (i know some of you people have and good job for you - dont flame). chances are you either unplugged power to the lights/sensors or cut into the wrong wires. I'd take it to your local stereo/alarm place and see if they know how to fix it. also, if it is a fuse.. there is a reason it went and it will go again unless the problem is fixed - just words of advice. hope everything goes well and it gets back working. >

edit: also, change title to "airbag light on" or "gauge cluster backlight out" -just so people know what your talking about.

In some toyotas if the battery is disconnected with the key in any position other than off it will set the airbag light. Here it costs $65 to get it reset at the dealer. Good luck.
Or you could unplug the negative terminal on your battery for around 90 seconds maybe a bit mroe to be safe and put it bakc on...it will reset all warning lights and if there's actually something wrong it will come on again. I do this to my WRX as I installed a few aftermarket parts, as well as my Celi when I had the ABS light on...and then again on my parents' Mazda 626 with a swapped KL-ZE in it...sometimes something will just go haywire for a second and trigger a warning light to go on...you reset it and if there's actually something wrong it will come on again.
Such as with my WRX, sometimes the AFR signal will go haywire for some stupid reason as it goes thru the SAFC...or the EGR signal in my parents' KL-ZE...or as having a lot of brake dust covering the ABS sensor in my Celi...easy fixes.
