8-Speaker System Upgrades - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #11873 14 posts Started by Element
Just got my Celica a little while ago and I'm gonna start upgrading my system...starting with a Pioneer DEH-P4600MP receiver, eventually an amp and 2 12" subs and a box for the trunk...anyway, I was wondering if anyone had some recommendations on other stuff. Plus, I'm unsure what I'm gonna need to do with the 2 amps I already have in the car since I have the premium system...I'm unsure about whether I need them or not, etc...any help would be appreciated!

P.S. I just turned 18, pay my own insurance, gas etc., and I work at a grocery store, so funds are limited...sadly enough...

Heres what I plan on doing

I plan on running a set of 6.5" components (low spot and tweeter spot), and 4 inchers (mid spot) off the head unit, that takes care of the doors.
then I plan on buying a 2 way amp for two rear 6.5's, and then a 2 way amp for two 12"s for the trunk.

Running all my own wire.

Utilizing all spots made available to me by having the 8 speaker stereo upgrade, and bypassing all the factory garbage that isnt worth dick in the aftermarket sound area >smile.gif>
Well I am going with:

Alpine 9833 head unit, crystal 6.5 coaxials in the rear, crystal 6.5 components in the front ran by 400w 2ch amp, two 8" kick subs in the doors ran by a 400w 2ch amp, 4 crystal 10 subs ran by two 1200w 2ch amps, two capacitors, Alpine cd changer, viper alarm and if I can find one a high output alternator.

I may also get a audio control line drives later.

I hope this gives you some ideas.

celiman , if I were you I wouldnt put two 8" kick subs in the doors

allso how are you planning on fitting a 6.5 inch component in a 4 inch speaker spot?

With four 10's I think you will have enough bass anyway you dont need 8 inch kickers.

You dont want your bass to over power the other elements all that much, cause then all you will hear is thumping and not the actual music
4 inch speaker spot? I hope you mean the door midrange!!! The back is 6.75.
I don't know why it posted twice

but that doesnt show how you are getting 8 inchers and 6.5 inchersi n the door
He's expressing himself badly.

How are you going to fit the 6.5 components in the 4 inch midrange spot?
I not going to use that spot in the doors. I am going to make custom kick panels for the 6.5s. Is that better???
