I mean 160k my bimmer didnt show any sign of any ware really... I duno, but atleast im def going to persue my swap this summer... sorry just need to vent a lil..
My ST is at 184.5K and there are no problems like that at all... maybe the previous owner didn't take care of yours?? >confused.gif>
Did you drive the car hard. I know the engine isn't fast but mine's been a really realiable car and I but over 1000 miles a week on it.
it must have been from the previous owner(s)... These cars Are amazing..
And I thought burning oil from worn o-rings was blue?! From what Ive read white smoke is valve seals leaking, or coolant if its sweet, but I could have remembered wrong.

my car has 111k and it runs better than my friends 2004 bimmer. i can practically weld the hood shut if not for oil changes.
white smoke i thought was oil, its when the car sits persay.. the oil driping or seeps past the rings into the combution.. ..and when started it burns and puffs out white smoke... of wait, or is that my head... **** my bad, its prolly my head... headgasket an or valve seals.. what ever.. its not good..
i get white smoke too, but only when boosting hard.........arg...still gotta find whats wrong...

boosting fun, but at a price, haha.

Driving the engine hard once in a while is a good thing to do just to clean it all out. Just as long as you dont drive it hard all of the time. Neglect is usually the biggest factor in the run down of engines. Make sure you are using the right kind of oil etc. I always thought that blue smoke was the cause of blown piston rings. White smoke is usually a leaking head gasket. Either way that motor is not going to last too much longer.
Mine is getting close to 160k and has had no problems so far other than my starter having to be replaced. This is the most reliable vehicle I have owned. It must just be the previous owner neglecting yours.

BTW white smoke is from head gasket leakage or a blown piston. That's what happened to my Bronco. It had both of those probs. It wasnt bad till the piston blew though...then I got my celi.
my celi has 150k on it and it runs great. its slow, but all the STs are. this car is so reliable.
I'm so glad that I'm the original owner of my car. >tongue.gif>
wow...was that first post in english? >tongue.gif>

anyway...my first engine ran easily to 180K...it was MY fault that it blew.

but...if taken care of...i could've easily made it past 200k.
