Gas Mileage - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #12361 26 posts Started by djspike
I have a 96 ST Hatch
on one tank of gas i get 300 miles

what does every one else get?
Depends on what kind of driving I do. But usually about 350.
i get around 330 - 340... but thats still leaving 2 - 2.5 gallons in the tank...
I get around 350 miles before I refuel, sometimes more if I stay out of too much traffic. I was pretty surprised with my mileage once I started keeping track.

*edit*
Bad spelling, and I get about 26mpg.

ive averaged my car about 20 MPG with a 13 Gal tank... so about 260 miles per tank.

Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them allNo but I don't buy itLike anything you do, as anyone you areCause I'm...Ten Speed, of God's Blood & Burial
I dont think how many miles a tanks helsp much, cause every one fills at dif points.. I get around 26-29 mpg... 29 was when i drove half on highway.. I do most city driving kinda
I refuel every +-250 miles. Before i hit the 'E'

Normal driving 20 mpg
Gas saving 23-25 mpg

Gas sucks..... It wont stop going up >mad.gif>
i was getting 30mpg in the city

then with turbo at 8 PSI i got 23-25mpg in the city, depending on how i drove(when i had the turbo on there, i actually drove slower than before)

now that i have a brand new engine im getting 23-24mpg in the city. toyota tells me that its just breaking in but its already got about 4k on the new engine and they told me at 5k it would get to normal

we'll see how it goes, but since i dont drive the celica anymore, it doesnt affect me. i'm driving my 93 protege which gets about 28mpg in the city.

my next car will probably get sub 20mpg >frown.gif> which is why i have to keep my mazda

My del Sol gets about 32MPG if I drive like a sane person and not as if I stole the car from that poor elderly lady that lives down the street.

*cough*
i get 24 mpg/around 390 per tank.

i just figured that out cuz i just put 15.4 gallons in her @ 373 miles

talk about cutting it close....>biggrin.gif>
my light flips on around 315 and flickers untill about 340 then its stays solid.

29.7 MPG average, mostly driving to work, 27 if I run it a little hard, 30-33 on a road trip. Stock GT 5 sp. with Amsoil in the engine and trans, and an Amsoil foam air filter element.
i don't have any clue anymore... i just drive and keep the tank between full and half a tank most of the time.. i really don't like seening that needle go under the half way make.. but when i do i just let it drop way past the E line and let the gas light stay on till it turns red ..

all i know, my gas mileage sucks. like 290-300 per tank

former celica owner.
I get around 270-300 miles to the tank now with the intake and other mods. I used to get a solid 300-325 when stock (1999 5S-FE Manual). However I went on a 5 hour trip to Mardi Gras in New orleans which from Houston is fairly non-stop at 70MPH (okay so i was really pushing closer to 100 most of the time) and got right at 400 miles but I was completely dry at that point. And yes my gas gauge acts stupid like that as well. Another somewhat related question:
I used to own a '95 GT automatic and it ran way lower RPM's to get the same speed as my '99 GT Manual. Anybody else at 4000RPM's at 80 miles an hour? Could there be something wrong with my tranny or is it just in the gearing?
-Negative
Me again. By the way my '99 manual gets to 80MPH about twice as fast as the old sluggish automatic. Which was really the point of switching in the first place.
28mpg city and 31 mpg highway. I usually get about 300-340 before I fill up which is about the 1/4 tank mark. I'm just glad gas isnt as high in utah as it is in cali. but still 2.19 a gallon is crazy. I hate filling up now.
If I fill up I usually get 350 before the gas light stays on
I get 33-34 mpg. I go about 420-430 miles before I fill up. 95 ST, standard, I don't go over 3000 rpms, I do about 25/75 (city/highway), and I use premium gas.

those numbers are insane..
but they are true >biggrin.gif> I am not a racer, just a driver. I did the speed thing with my 93 Stealth for a few years (sold about 3 months ago and bought my celica). Now I just want style and good mileage. I am extemely happy with my celica.

BTW, I have 136K miles on it.

id say 400 off a full tank, my gas light is stupid tho ( gauage to) the gas light comes on at 3 almost 4 gallons when im on a flat surface, and the gauge will be reading below empty
