installing coilovers - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #13011 9 posts Started by playr158
ok i put on my arospeed coilovers and you get all the washers and stuff....
but i ended up not using all those rubber o-rings but a few....where do they go cause i KNOW they're there for a reason i just can't find what that reason is?! >frown.gif> >frown.gif> >frown.gif>
if they are like ground controls then you slip them over the strut about halfway down. then, when you slip the sleeve over the strut those little o-rings will hold the sleeve in place.

hope that helps
so my coilover sleeve is only supposed to be 1/2 way down the strut and the rubber rings are supposed to hold it there?!?!?! can anyone with a set of coils no matter what kinda post a pic of them so i can see how you did it

The purpose of the O-Rings are to support the aluminum sleeve on the housing. They sent you xtra ones just to have on the side in case you need more of them later down the road. You only need like 2 maybe 3 on the shock housing.

You want at least about 1/8th of an inch room between the bottom of the sleeve to the base of the shock housing.

I have pics of my GC's when I had them installed but I host off imagestation.
Sorry for the red x's if you get them.
Here's an example I found of the O-rings.
