That Skyline taillight conversion... - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #1306 21 posts Started by Cody
Like, is anyone ever gonna try it, or has anyone ever thought about is seriously? I mean, I think it would look awesome...but I'd like to see it installed.
There was a thread about this a while back. Do a search for skyline and you should find it. I'd give you a link but I'm in a hurry to finish some stuff for clients and I don't have a whole lot of time. >wink.gif>

New Toyota project coming soon...
Heh, thats why I made this post. I know someone photochopped them on to a Celi...but I wanna know if anyone went ahead and did it.
I don't think anyone did it yet. I think someone is seriously thinking about it though. I know Jason is planning on doing RSX tails sometime. >biggrin.gif>

I guess the RSX Tails will look nice, if he does the carbon fiber ones made by APC...but i don't know..im partial to the stock or the JDM Hatchback 6gen tail lights..i think they look best IMO
Ahhh.......JDM tails (thus my avitar) >biggrin.gif>

Damn, thats too bad, they were my only hope for getting them, but if it takes 5 months and $400 i would sooner red out my tails. But if anyone else knows where to get them, let us all know. >wink.gif>

JDM tails can be ordered from any Toyota dealership. Just give them the part numbers and make sure they know these are Japanese parts so they check the right database.
i am the one who is trying to do this feat, but i had the chance on ebay to get a good cheap pair but i doubted myself if i could do this. so i actully let the bid go. i know it was dumb but i was short on cash and all. but now i have sum extra but i plan to by a body kit first. so yeh tail light conversion has been pushed back a few. i hope some one else will do it before me. well yeah so thats what happend with it. i dont want it coming out crappy or totaly mutilating my celica for sum tail lights, see what i mean about self doubt. >biggrin.gif>

what exactly is a curren?

It's a car made by Toyota, found in Japan, and it has sleek, different headlights than a sixth gen, but shares the same rear end as a UDSM Celica coupe. I believe that they're powered by the 3S-FE and the 3S-GE as well.

i searched and found a picture of one, neat..thanks for the info >smile.gif>
Actually, I've never seen a Celica Coupe in Japan...only hatchbacks. I THINK that the Curren is just a Celica Coupe with some crap headlights (I think the 4 in the front look WAY better) a little better engine and is more of a luxury series. You gotta realize that it costs Japanese people about $3000 to get their drivers liscences..so those who do drive have serious dough. A buddy of mine has a 1995 Curren and he said he'd trade me any day for my Celica. Definitely the 6g.
skyline tail lights belong on a skyline, keep it a celica -- it looks better that way >wink.gif>
Didn't neverstop say he was good with fiberglass? He needs to make those mud guards.
...and the skyline tailight conversion.

I agree for the most part...like the Supra conversions (no offense, Oreo). The Supra tailights are one of a kind...keep 'em on a Supra. But the skyline taillights would just look plain awesome on a Celica.

I think it would be hella sweet to see R34 taillights on a celica, but as soon as 1 person does it then 10 more are gonna be right behind him and i'll be played out in no time. I say to anyone that wants to do it, Go For It!
Yea, people should be original. CIVIC CONVERSION!!!
