After reading johns install thing I still have a couple of questions to the DIY'ers

The top nut on the front since it has very little pressure is that going to be a problem to put back on?

Common sense question but not POSITIVE: the rubber ends on the springs go to the top right? im like 95% positive they do.

In the Tein thing they recommend getting a new lock nut? wtf is this and do I need it?

Do i need alignment? I've heard yes and no. With the money I save I can pay to get it done. Shops in the area wanted ****ing 400 bucks.

well...after you install them see how the car feels alignment wise...if its pulling funny then i would get it done. Also look at your wheels on the side of the car and see if they are tilted in (negative camber) if you see noticable negative camber then your tires will start to wear on the insides. I drove for about a year with like -2 degrees in the rear..it wore the insides of my tires down pretty bad.

It should be fine to use the original lock nut up top. If you get new struts they will come with one but the original will be fine if you dont remove it too many times and wear it out .

You talking about the rubber tubbing around the springs to keep noise down? Yeah its probably best to put the closer together coils up...it really doesnt matter though >>

also, alignments should cost NO MORE than 70$ for a all-wheel alignment. Check tire-discounters or bigOtires if you have them. Dont tell them your car is lowered or they want to charge more for some reason...just say "not that i know of" if they ask >>

oh that top bolt which is under pressure is no biggy it pops off and goes on easy you DON'T need a compressor

im not quite sure what you mean by rubber end? teins come with rubbing tubbing around the springs right?

It will work either way but i have heard there is less noise with the tighter coils at the top because they dont hit together as much. Tein puts the rubber around them though to stop noise when they hit together.

yes, the rubber end goes up. you can use the old lock nut, I used it. I do see a need to get an alignment right away. Its an easy install, if you dont use a spring compresor the becareful taking out the top nut cause the stock spring is under pressure. Dont forget to cut the rubber stumps on the shock shaft.

It will take you about 4 hours to do.

yeah that top nut is under a bit of pressure had a bruise on my chest for a while. last time i had an alignment i took it to sears and since it didn't need any adjustment they didn't charge me anything. although you will probably need adjusting.

side note how much camber adjustment do we have without haveing to get the adjustment plates? anyone know...just curious
