everytime i brake at a very low speed they sound like they are grinding and they also squeak as i come to a stop
ideas?
i am awesome
When you say "trying" do you mean you could not get them off? Did you happen to use a hammer or other blunt object?
The squeaking is probably just the metal backing plates, I'm not sure about the grinding though.
i don't know about the grinding, but the squeeking can be fixed. take you pads off and put anti-seize or some electrolytic grease on the back of the pads and in the channel the pads slide up and up and down. This should take care of it.
Andason, at this point it might be best to do what I did. I had the same probs you did ( I replyed in the other post ) Take the car to a mechanic or shop and have them put new shoes and drums on. Obviously you have new drums and probably new shoes, so yes I know it sucks, pay someone to put them on. I wouldn't take any more chances at this point. It will probably cost less than $100 if you have the parts. If you know the mechanic it will probably be cheaper. The damage I caused to my e-brake was bad. It stuck when I used it, sometimes for a day or 2 which sucked really bad, and I eventually had to just disconect it 100%
