this morning i was dropping my sister off at school and on my way home the bass just disappeared! i thought maybe the ground wire was disconnected (as it frequently is) but it was well connected. in fact, everything else was connected properly as well. i dunno whats wrong >> I think something is loose inside the amp cuz i hit the side of the sub box and it kicked in, but only for a couple seconds. the amp does have a 5 year warranty but i dunno where the registration card is, so i don't know how to contact them and everything. i definitely dont want to buy another amp. im thinking of just taking the whole thing out, getting a CF hood, and making my car 140-150 pounds lighter. then when i get my header and underdrive pulley, itll go faster. but i want my bass back. it's just not the same w/o it >>

check the wiring inside the box i had this happen to me. i thought i blew the amp but it was just the wires that connect to the sub that were loose

ok , i looked at both subs, both are still wired to the amp >>

Check the simple things first, cable connections, fuses,
ground connections. Is your amp power indicator illuminated?
or protection indicator on. If hitting the amp brings back
your base intermittently it could be a cracked/ dry solder joint inside the amp, usually caused by a component inside
heating and cooling on a regular basis.You may have to
open it up and turn the board upside down. Look for any
circular cracks around soldered joints. Anything that looks suspicious touch up with a soldering iron to make a solid connection again (do this of course with the power removed from the unit)

Check the fuse, i bet thats the problem..do you have a fuse in the line of the wire thats going to the amp from the battery? Thats what my problem was...hopefully that fixes your problem...

that and i dont want u getting a c/f hood and selling ur audio stuff...your car will be faster than mine >>

fuses are ok, both the one on the amp and the one that goes to the battery. ground connections are ok, power light on amp is on, protection indicator light is off. i still dunno what is wrong so i took it out for now, maybe take it apart later. heh, my car is now 80-90 pounds lighter. >>

man...that's a lot of weight...what all do you have in there?
