custom boot install - 6G Celicas Forums

i am almost to the point where im finnished sub and amp install.
here are a few pics as it went along....

im hoping tomorrow to trim the shelf for the amps....

here i made a frame outta 18mm mdf that fitted into the wheelwell then fiberglassed the bottom untill it was approx 5mm thick..

next i made two rings and mounted them on a jig to gimmi the right shape.
speaker grill cloth was used to strech over it and then covered with fiberglass resin.

inside the top i used resin and mdf sawdust mixed together like a runny paste and poured it over.....this makes the top very strong...

grill cloth was streched over the opening of my boot and the subs bagged and placed in the holes.....
a layer of fiberglass was then layed over the cloth....

i used a builders filler and hours of sanding to get this cover smooth....

after i had smoothed everything down i then primed and painted the cover board and made a shelf for the amps to go on.....
tomorrow i should be able to trim the shelf and have some finnished pics....

Very nice! You are running an isobaric setup with 4 subs right?

Have you wired them up yet? Hows it sound?

Also, for the top part of the sub enclosure, there's only grill clotch coated in resin and resin mixed with MDF dust to provide strength? Does that get really strong?

How's the box sound? It looks really good. >smile.gif>
