lowering the front more - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #13994 17 posts Started by Verde97
I have my car lowered 1 1/2" with Sprint springs...but I can't figure out why I have no wheel gap in the rear, but a huge wheel gap in the front. Like 1 to 1 1/2". Big big big big difference, and it drives me nuts.

Is there any way that I can lower the front of the car more so that it is the same as the rear? It would look sooo much better!

Thanks fellas.
I've got that same problem, and it's only going to get worse once I begin distributing weight more evenly...I'm thinking of getting lower springs just for the front, or higher springs just for the rear.

New Toyota project coming soon...

Well I think the 2 12" subs might be helping to lower your car in the back, but suspension is not my area of expertise (yet).
nah, its just the design of the car...
as a fwd putting the front down more than the rear will not hurt the balance, just give you a better chance to slide the back out when slamming on brakes before a corner or flying around one.
it can be beneficial as well though too.

ehh...yea
i put coilovers in front and nothing in back and mine sits eqaul all the way because of my sub box , pics ar on caraudio.com first page of imports
am i the only one who thinks it looks fine the way it is? perhaps it´s cuz i don´t have springs yet...
i have h & R's and my rear seems more lowered
Hmmm...I think that I might ditch the springs that I have and buy coilovers. That would fix the problem, I am thinking.

Good brands? Good places to buy? I heard eBay ones suck.

Anyone know how much to lower each to make it even? Are they easy to install?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm a :noob: when it comes to coilovers.
Ground Controls are the best cheap set of coil-overs...
just put your stock springs on the back. >smile.gif>

Where is the best place to buy Ground Controls?

Man, I feel like an idiot.
id try www.shox.com
just send em an e-mail and they'll give you a price

if you plan to do some lowering over 2" i'd suggest you get some new struts and shocks.
Hey everyone I need to lower mine period.... take a look at my profile and tell me what u suggest. Thanks
Dustin
Dustin, I would do coilovers. I emailed shox.com, and they told me that they had Ground Control coilovers for $395.00. I'm not sure if that is a good price or not, but it doesn't sound bad. That's what I would do.

And, BTW, that is what I'm going to do >biggrin.gif>
Hey if it is any help I have Koni shocks and ground controls and I have had no problems with my car sitting uneven.. I just recently raised the front a tad because of clearnace issues getting on and off of a lift but I am dropping it back down this weekend. I think it has to do with the product you buy. I dont remember exactly because it was so long ago but I think the set up cost like $1,000 but like I said it was like 3 years ago so I dont remember.

My new Eibach Sportlines do the same thing but it's barely noticeable. The difference in handling is definetly noticeable especially around 100MPH.
