lowering my car - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #14363 11 posts Started by DamDirtyApes
i have 17 inch wheels, if i were to put eibach pro line ( i think thats the 1 inch drop springs) would i needa camber kit... or just a good alignment.... im very picky when it comes to my car and it needs to be PERFECT. im considering lowering but i dont want uneven tire wear...... thanks-
sportlines are fine too
they're 1.5" and would only need an alignment as well...

edit: but if you want perfect i think performance struts and shocks may be in order to keep the ride quality in either situation.

well i dont really have the money for struts and shocks... i dont mind a little bit more bumpier just as long as it isnt really bad and i still want the car to be safe and the tires to wear normally..... so the sportlines plus an alignment would be completely fine?
if you want the care to be safe then do it right the first time before your shocks die and you go over a bump and can't control your car well at all.

It will be fine if your struts are fine. Being that your car is a 97' you probably dont have too many miles on the stock struts right? If you suspension feels like crap now you mise well upgrade it all at once.
Yes, just do it all at once... your going to eventually have to replace ur struts. Don´t be like me - I replaced the shocks because my tires were dying, and now i wish i had springs installed... would not have cost anything extra.

Edit: not shocks, struts >smile.gif>

yeah first off do it all at once. Second, i would say go with the sportlinesn there norm cheaper an give you a lil better of a drop. Also.. I did sportlines with gr-2's.. and I didnt adjust camber or alignment and its fine.. you dont have to do an alignment or caber for this bit of a drop.. and alignment as long as you dont mess with any of your settings your fine. save your money.
I'm thinking of using sportlines and gr2's with 18 inch rims. I know tire size will ultimately determine if it works, but does 18's with the drop of sportlines sound extreme or just right? I firgure the bigger the rim the further the suspension needs to be lowered to get rid of the monster-truck look. Any suggestions?
a set of the kit sale on tirerack.com only $28 + shipping, since you want it perfect, why not get it, and a suggestion, ever think of the tein S. tech springs? alot people in here recommend it, I plan to put a set on my babe this weekend if all parts arrive on time, my plan is a set of KYB GR-2 and set of tein S tech, which get me 1.5 drop in the front and .9 drop in the back, and only around $350 plus installation... Cheap~
