fiberglass would chip more.
If you looking to save money and for a temporary solution go to maacoo.
Might cost you $200 or less to paint.

you can prevent paint chips on the fiberglass front bumper if you get the flex additive. this helps absorb the impact of the rocks hitting your front. Also youll have less paint chips on the front bumber if you drive below 65 mpg on the highway.
i think u mean mph not mpg? heh ..... that would proberly be a good idea, 90 mph will add alot of chips eh.
You could probably get it repainted for 200-300$ and it'd look like new. If you go to fiberglass pieces, like everyone said, chipping will be much more abundant. Stick w/ the OEM pieces, just get them repainted, and like coustoe said, if you're really low on money just go up to Maaco.
If your really low on money, you can buy half decent paint equipment, the spray gun and paint for $75-$100. Then you biggest problem would be to find a area that is ventilated and protected from the outside. If you do it outside do it in the shade, where its not windy and pray it doesnt rain.
Of course the prep work and the technique take a while to master, but since you have lots of free time and little money this could be right for you. Plus its only the bumpers.
oh dont get the paint in a aerosal spray can, I mean a real air powered spray gun.
