Do anyone know how swapping and Engine will effect insurance rates? NY's insurance prem. are already high enough. So wondering how much more it would cost if I swapped my engine.
Yeah, I was kind of wondering about this myself. It would suck to invest a lot of money into a swap only to have some idiot driver smash into your car with the insurance money only covering what you had before the swap..
you should try calling insurance company or D M V

it will affect your insurance if you tell them about it. it will cost more, but varying depending on your age. if you don't tell them, you don't have to pay higher rates, but if you get in an accident it's likely your entire policy will be void and you'll have no coverage for even basic repairs.

as for legality, JDM engines really aren't legal, but will past most smog tests. they will NOT however, pass any visual smog inspection because there is no EGR system on the engine, and that's very easy to see when you are inspecting the car... the parts just aren't there.

Well even if I do get JDM I know a shop that'll use anotehr car to pass the smog test for me. But I was wondering if anyone who done it and reported it to their insurance company. I was wonder how much higher it will be.
I was thinking just put a USDM Turbo MR2 engine in my car. That way it's legal and don' need all the hassle of doing everything. I was just wondering if I did that how much higher will my insurance prem go up by?
You probably aren't going to get a reasonable answer on here, so call your insurance company and ask them under a different alias so you can make the decision if you want to tell them later or not. Thats the best answer you will probably get.

Edit-
Plus, if its a little local insurance company, it may not even cover swaps, so that could be another factor as well.
