Midwest Meet - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #15161 81 posts Started by jgreening
Starved Rock State Park is in Utica, IL - about 1 hour south of Rockford and an hour West of the Chicago suburbs. I am suggesting a meet on Saturday, October 2, 2004. Starved Rock is a beautiful location with lots of hiking trails, picnic areas, and great scenery for some nice car pics. Who's all up for it?

Map

Here is the layout of the park. I have marked the meet area in green. It is a long picnic area down by the river next to the Visitor's Center.

For those that want a larger map that is easier to read (but without the green markings) you can go to this link:

Who else is interested? Do people even see these posts in this forum? My little alert in the general forum was deleted >frown.gif> For all you Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Wisconsin people, I would appreciate if you could just post in here whether you can come or not. That way I will know if you have seen it. It would be nice to have several cars there.

hey i'll go, if i don't have school that day. i'm all stock auto ST, but i'd still like to see what you guys have done with your rides.

bout 60 miles from me. doesn't sound that bad at all. i have a few friends with toyotas (94 TT supra, MR-2's, etc..) who might also be interesting. only speculation at this point, but i'll definately throw it out there for em.

Super. The more the merrier. I am imagining something pretty low key. I will probably bring the family, have a picnic, go for a trail hike, take some pics, etc. etc. Should be a good day. Will also be giving rides in the 3s.... >biggrin.gif>

noticed on there that groups of 25 or more should register with them 1st... think we should do that??

BTW who all is going to this?

Really think if some of us are going to be driving far that we should know whos gonna be there and whos not.

maybe make a list like in a GB?

The meet is alive and well. I don't think that it will be necessary to get a group pass. I think the 25 requirement is probably for the lodge. There is a place in the park by the river that has a long road that travels by picnic areas where it would be easy for everyone to gather. As for figuring out who is going, you can look in the thread and post a list if you like. It might be helpful to people.

what time do we all want to meet there?? also is it near a town? would assume so but want to check. Also what about hotel accomidations?

I currently will be having 3 6th gens... possibly 2-3 more and maybe a 7th gen if she can take work off.

Andason is coming... and we need to get Akimbo to come.

so counting Jgreening

that at least 5 cars and possibly up to 8 right there.. I would like to see atleast 15-20 cars.. think we can get that many??

and ya I live the closet but eh... I like to make everything count >biggrin.gif> if im gonna drive more than 10 miles newhere I better either be gettin some or havin alot of fun >tongue.gif>

99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =)
I will update my first post with a list of who is coming. Please post in here for updates if you are coming or can't make it.

The closest town is Utica but its small. As for hotel accomodations, I suggest LaSalle or Peru which is close.
